Anna
Towan:
Many students in this
course will agree that one of the definite standouts for this term is Anna
Towan’s blog for Ryanair. If you haven’t already visited her page, I would
definitely encourage you to: http://annatowanacct11059.blogspot.com.au/
It is evident that
Anna has done some substantial investigating on her company Ryanair. She has
included in-depth background information on her company, as well as including,
key challenges and risks associated with the airline industry and her firm. Facts and figures, and business articles about
Ryanair have also been included on her blog; this information was helpful for achieving
a better understanding of her company. The information found on Anna’s blog also
helped me to establish what information I should be looking for with my
company.
Furthermore, I found
Anna’s blog entertaining and friendly. She incorporates little anecdotes about
juggling studying and her family life and how learning accounting is like
skydiving. She also includes fun facts that make reading her blog fun. The
listed seven most ridiculous cost-saving ventures of Ryanair had me in
stitches. I also think it is lovely that Anna took the time to thank everyone
who has commented on her blog and who were using her as one of their top three
favourite blogs.
Megan
McCormick:
My second choice was
Megan McCormick’s blog for her company, Amcom. The overall layout of Megan’s
blog is fantastic. She has established a separate page for each topic she
addresses about her company and the assignment. This makes the blog very easy
to navigate and the information presented is clear and concise.
Moreover, the blog
contains vital background information on Amcom, which makes it easy to
understand what the company does. Megan
also includes useful links to the company’s website and annual reports. These
links makes it easier to verify the similarities and differences between
Amcom’s financial statements and my own company’s financial statements. In
addition to this, Megan has also presented her own key concepts and questions
for her company; this information allows other students to get a better
understanding of Amcom, and also provides an example of what we should be
presenting and questioning about our own company and their financial statements.

Ben
Patchett:
My final top three
favourite blog goes to Ben Patchett and his blog for Asciano. The layout for
this blog is well organised and simple to follow. The blog posts are well
labeled, which makes it easier to locate information about his company.
What is more, Ben has
included simplified and helpful background information about his company and
its industry. He uses bullet points to summarise the most crucial aspects of
the firm. Another feature I like that Ben has included, is the recent news
articles about Asciano. This helps to establish the current achievements and
dilemmas faced by the company.
However, one of my
favourite features of Ben’s blog is the comment page. This allows for easy
access of comments from both Ben and other students who have left comments on
his page. This is definitely a feature I would like to incorporate on my page.

Thanks everyone for
the great blogs! :)
